Halophosphate
Halophosphate is an older type of coating used in flourescent
lamps
Halophosphate lamps distort colours quite badly in comparison to
the newer Triphosphor lamps.
Halophosphate lamps tend to make reds and greens look dimmer than
usual, wheras triphosphor lamps often make them look slightly
brighter than normal.
Due to changes in legislation, most new fluorescent lamps are
triphosphor lamps.
Halophosphate tubes for sale are most likely old stock.
Lamps come in different colour temperatures :
27 or 2700 "Warm white", similar to whiter shades of
incandescent
35 or 3500 "White", similar to the whitest halogen lamps
41 or 4100 "Cool white", the colour of average sunlight
50 or 5000 - white like tropical sunlight at noon
65 or 6500 - "Daylight" slightly bluish white
